Booking, Payments, Cancellations & Refunds
How bookings and payments work through RepairMyCar, and what happens if you need to change, cancel or get a refund.

The short version
- A booking is a request to a garage. Your contract for the work is with the garage, not us.
- You pay the garage directly, normally on the day - RepairMyCar never holds your money, and booking is free for you.
- You can cancel or reschedule for free up to 24 hours before your appointment.
- If a garage can't do the job, you owe nothing for it, and we'll help you find an alternative.
- Any extra work is agreed with, and paid directly to, the garage.

1.What a booking is
When you use RepairMyCar, you use our Platform to find a garage and request a job. When you choose a garage and it accepts, that becomes a booking - and a separate contract is formed between you and the garage for the work. RepairMyCar is an intermediary that arranges the booking. We are not a garage and are not a party to the contract for the work, and we are not responsible for the work the garage does or doesn't do, or for any guarantee it gives. The garage may contact you to confirm details, by email, text or phone.
2.Fixed-price and quote bookings
Fixed-price bookings. For many common jobs, the garage publishes a fixed price for a defined piece of work. That price is the garage's commitment for the work described, and you pay the garage directly on the day. It covers only the work described, and depends on the details you give being accurate.
Quote-based bookings. For complex or diagnostic work, a garage may give a quote, which is an estimate only and can change - for example after the garage sees your vehicle. Please agree the final price and scope with the garage before any work begins.
3.How payment works
You pay the garage directly for the work - normally on the day, when the work is done - using the methods the garage accepts. RepairMyCar does not take, collect or hold your payment for the work, and we never sit between you and your money.
Browsing and booking are free for you. We are paid by garages (a small, flat fee per booking), not by you, and we never add anything to the price the garage charges. The price you see and book is what you pay the garage.
4.Additional work and extra charges
A fixed price or quote covers only the work described. If the garage finds additional work is needed, it must tell you and agree the price with you before carrying it out. Any additional charges are a matter between you and the garage and are paid directly to the garage.
5.What RepairMyCar charges
You do not pay RepairMyCar anything to find a garage or make a booking. Garages pay us a small, flat fee per booking - never a percentage of your bill - which is a matter between us and the garage and does not change the price you pay. Because you pay the garage directly, we do not hold or release your money.
6.Cancelling or rescheduling
You can cancel or reschedule a booking through your account.
- Free cancellation. If you cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before your appointment, there is nothing to pay.
- Late cancellation. If you cancel within 24 hours of the appointment, the garage may apply its own cancellation policy, as it will have reserved time and resources for your job, and the garage may charge a late-cancellation fee under its own terms.
- Cancelling on or after the appointment. If you can't attend, please contact the garage to reschedule. Any charge for a missed appointment is a matter between you and the garage under its own terms.
When you cancel or reschedule through the Platform, we will let the garage know. If the Platform is unavailable and it is urgent, please contact the garage directly and let us know at hello@repairmycar.io with your booking reference.
7.If the garage can't do the job
If you attend (or the mobile mechanic attends) and it is agreed that the garage cannot carry out the work you booked, you owe nothing for that job (and if you have paid the garage anything in advance, the garage will refund it). Please tell us at hello@repairmycar.io with your booking reference, and we will help you find an alternative where we can.
8.Refunds
Because you pay the garage directly, any refund for the work is arranged by the garage, and the timing depends on the garage and your bank. Where a refund relates to a dispute about the quality of work, that is a matter between you and the garage under your contract with them; we will use reasonable efforts to help facilitate a resolution, but the remedy for the work is the garage's responsibility.
9.Your statutory rights and liability
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including your rights in respect of the work against the garage. Because you pay the garage directly, the price, payment and any refund for the work are between you and the garage. For full terms, see our Driver Terms & Conditions.
