Driver Terms & Conditions
The terms on which you use RepairMyCar to find a garage, book a service or repair, and pay through our platform.
Last updated: June 2026 · Version 1.1 · Version 1.0
Please read this first - the important bits in plain English
- We are a booking platform, not a garage. RepairMyCar connects you with independent garages and mechanics. We do not carry out any work on your vehicle, and we are not the supplier of any service or repair.
- Your contract for the work is with the garage - not with us. The garage is solely responsible for the service, repair, parts and workmanship, and for your legal rights as a consumer in respect of that work.
- We do not provide, underwrite or guarantee any warranty. Any guarantee on parts or workmanship is given by the garage and is enforceable against the garage only.
- Fixed prices vs quotes. Some jobs are offered at a fixed price the garage has committed to for a defined piece of work. Others are quotes, which are estimates and may change. Please make sure you know which one you are accepting.
- Always agree extra work before it is done. If the garage finds further work is needed, the price for that extra work must be agreed with you before they carry it out.
- Check the garage and the work. You remain responsible for choosing your garage, confirming what is included, and checking the work and the invoice.
- Nothing here removes your statutory rights as a consumer.

1.Information about us
RepairMyCar is a website and app at www.repairmycar.io and all related sites, services, applications and tools that we operate from time to time (the "Platform").
The Platform is operated by RepairMyCar Ltd ("RepairMyCar", "we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 14872031, with its registered office at 12 Buckingham Gate, London SW1E 6LB.
You can contact us by email at hello@repairmycar.io or by post at the address above. These terms apply to anyone using the Platform as a customer to find, book or pay for vehicle services (a "Driver", "you"). If you are a garage or mechanic, please see our Garage Terms & Conditions instead.
By using the Platform you confirm that you accept these terms and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
2.What RepairMyCar is - and is not
RepairMyCar is an online intermediary. We provide a platform that lets you search for independent garages and mechanics (each a "Garage"), see prices and availability, book a service or repair (a "Job"), and arrange payment with the Garage.
It is important that you understand the following:
- We do not carry out, supervise, direct or control any work on your vehicle.
- We are not the supplier of any service, repair, MOT, diagnostic, part or product. The Garage is the supplier.
- We do not employ Garages, and Garages are independent businesses, not our agents.
- We do not endorse, recommend or guarantee any Garage, and listing on the Platform is not a recommendation. We may carry out limited checks (for example asking Garages to confirm insurance), but those checks are not a guarantee of a Garage's competence, quality, status or suitability.
- We do not provide, underwrite or stand behind any warranty or guarantee on any work or parts.
- We cannot guarantee the accuracy or completeness of information provided by Garages, including prices, descriptions, availability and quotes.
You remain responsible for choosing your Garage, agreeing the work with them, and checking and verifying any information before you rely on it.
3.Using RepairMyCar and your account
There is no charge for browsing the Platform or for creating an account. To make a booking you may need to register and provide information such as your name, contact details and vehicle details.
You must make sure the information you give us is accurate, complete and not misleading, and you must keep it up to date so that we and the Garage can contact you. You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for activity that takes place under your account. Tell us immediately if you think your account has been used without your permission.
To use the Platform you need an internet connection and a compatible device or browser. Some features may not work on older devices.
4.How booking works - fixed prices and quotes
RepairMyCar offers two ways to book. Please make sure you understand which one applies before you confirm.
4.1 Fixed-price bookings
For many common jobs (for example an MOT, a service, brake pads or tyres), a Garage publishes a fixed price for a clearly defined piece of work. When you book a fixed-price Job:
- The price shown is the price the Garage has committed to for the work described, based on the vehicle and Job details you provide.
- The fixed price covers only the work described. It does not include any additional work, parts or repairs found to be necessary once the Garage inspects your vehicle (see section 8).
- The fixed price depends on the details you give being accurate. If your vehicle or the work is materially different from what you described, the Garage may need to re-price the Job, and will agree any change with you before proceeding.
Even though the price is fixed, the work itself is still carried out by the Garage under your contract with the Garage (section 5).
4.2 Quote-based bookings
For more complex or diagnostic work, a Garage may provide a quote (sometimes called an estimate) based on the information you provide. Quotes are indicative only. They are not a fixed price and can be amended or replaced by the Garage before any work is agreed, for example after the Garage has seen your vehicle. We strongly recommend you agree the final price and scope directly with the Garage in writing before any work begins.
4.3 Confirming a booking
A booking request is an instruction to us to arrange your Job with the chosen Garage. Your booking is not finally confirmed until the Garage accepts it. We will tell you when a booking is confirmed. The Garage may contact you to confirm details, arrange a date, or discuss the work.
5.Your contract for the work is with the garage
When you book a Job and a Garage accepts it, a separate contract is formed between you and the Garage for that work. RepairMyCar is not a party to that contract.
- The Garage is solely responsible for carrying out the work with reasonable care and skill, for the quality of parts and workmanship, and for meeting your legal rights as a consumer in respect of the work.
- The Garage's own terms of business apply to the work. We recommend you ask the Garage for these before work begins.
- Any dispute about the work - including its quality, timing, cost, or any refund or remedy for the work - is between you and the Garage. We are happy to help where we reasonably can (see section 19), but we are not legally responsible for the Garage's work or conduct.
6.Prices, payment and your money
Prices shown on the Platform are set by the Garage and are based on the information you provide. Prices include VAT where the Garage is VAT-registered, unless stated otherwise.
6.1 You pay the garage directly
You pay the Garage directly for the work - normally on the day, when the work is done - under the Garage's own terms. RepairMyCar does not take, collect or hold your payment for the work, and we are not a payment service provider in respect of it. We never sit between you and your money.
6.2 No charge from us for booking
Browsing the Platform and making a booking are free for you. We are paid by Garages, not by you, and we never add anything to the price the Garage charges you.
6.3 Fixed prices and additional work
For a fixed-price Job, the price you saw and booked is the price the Garage has committed to for the work described (section 4). Any additional work must be agreed with you first and is paid directly to the Garage (section 8).
6.4 Refunds and remedies
Because you pay the Garage directly, any refund for the work is a matter between you and the Garage under your contract with them (section 5). We will use reasonable efforts to help facilitate a resolution (see section 19), but the remedy for the work is the Garage's responsibility.
7.Cancellations, changes and cooling-off
Plans change. Here is how cancellations work, alongside your statutory rights.
- Free cancellation window. You can cancel or reschedule a booking up to 24 hours before the appointment at no charge.
- Within 24 hours of the appointment. Because the Garage will have reserved time and resources for your Job, a cancellation made inside this window may be subject to the Garage's own cancellation policy, which may include a cancellation charge payable to the Garage.
- If the Garage cancels or cannot carry out the Job, you owe nothing for that Job, and we will help you find an alternative where we can.
Your statutory cooling-off rights. Because our own service to you (the Platform) is free and provided immediately, you have no separate statutory right to cancel that service. For the work you book, your statutory cancellation rights (where they apply, for example under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013) are unaffected by the windows above. If you ask for the work to begin before any applicable cancellation period ends, you may lose the right to cancel once the work is fully performed, and you may have to pay for work already done. Your other legal rights as a consumer are not affected.
8.Additional work and changes to scope
Sometimes a Garage discovers that further work, parts or repairs are needed that were not part of the booking - for example a problem found during a service or inspection.
- A fixed price or quote covers only the work described. It does not cover additional work.
- The Garage must tell you about any additional work and agree the price with you before carrying it out.
- You do not have to agree to additional work. If you do agree, the price for that work is a matter between you and the Garage, and may be payable directly to the Garage outside the Platform unless we tell you otherwise.
If you are ever told that work has already been done that you did not authorise, this is a matter for you to raise with the Garage, and you should also let us know.
9.Warranties and guarantees
RepairMyCar does not provide, underwrite, insure or guarantee any warranty or guarantee on any work, parts or service.
A Garage may offer its own guarantee on parts or workmanship. Any such guarantee is given by the Garage, is part of your contract with the Garage, and is enforceable against the Garage only. We are not responsible for honouring it and have no liability if a Garage fails to honour it. Please ask the Garage for the terms of any guarantee before work begins, and keep your invoice as proof.
Your statutory rights against the Garage as a consumer - including that services be carried out with reasonable care and skill and that goods be of satisfactory quality - apply in addition to any guarantee and are unaffected by this section.
10.Your responsibilities
To get the best outcome and protect yourself, please:
- Give accurate information about your vehicle and the work you need, so prices and quotes are as accurate as possible.
- Check what is included before you confirm - whether it is a fixed price or a quote, and exactly what work it covers.
- Choose your Garage based on your own judgement. You may wish to read reviews and ask the Garage questions about the work, parts, timescales and any guarantee.
- Agree any extra work and its price with the Garage before it is carried out (section 8).
- Ask for an itemised invoice showing the work done and parts fitted, and keep it.
- Inspect the work when you collect your vehicle, and raise any concerns with the Garage promptly.
- Tell us if anything goes wrong, so we can help where we can and improve the Platform.
- Use the Platform lawfully and honestly, and only book Jobs you genuinely need.
11.FixSaver+ membership
FixSaver+ is an optional paid membership for Drivers, currently £4.99 per month (or the price shown when you join). It provides the benefits described on the Platform at the time you subscribe, which we may update from time to time.
- FixSaver+ renews automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time through your account, and cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid month.
- Membership fees are billed in advance and, except where the law requires otherwise, are non-refundable for the current period once that period has started.
- We will give you reasonable notice of any change to the FixSaver+ price or benefits, and you may cancel before the change takes effect.
- FixSaver+ does not change the fact that the Garage - not RepairMyCar - supplies the work, and does not provide any warranty from us.
12.Reviews, feedback and acceptable use
You may be able to leave reviews and feedback about a Garage you have used. Reviews must be your own genuine experience, honest and accurate, based on a real booking, and must not be defamatory, misleading, abusive, or in breach of anyone's rights.
When using the Platform, you must not post or send anything that: breaks any law; is fraudulent, dishonest or misleading; is abusive, threatening, obscene, hateful or otherwise objectionable; infringes anyone's intellectual property or privacy; impersonates anyone; or contains viruses or harmful code. We may moderate, edit or remove content, and may suspend accounts, where we reasonably believe these standards have been breached, although we do not routinely monitor content.
By submitting content you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, adapt and display that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Platform.
13.Our responsibilities to you
We will provide the Platform to you with reasonable care and skill. We aim to keep it accurate, available and working well, but - as with any online service - we cannot promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. We may carry out maintenance, make changes, or suspend parts of the Platform, and will give you reasonable notice of significant changes where we can.
Nothing in these terms removes our duty to provide the Platform with reasonable care and skill, or affects your statutory rights.
14.Things we are not responsible for
Because we are an intermediary and not the supplier of the work, and subject to section 15, we are not responsible for:
- the performance, quality, acts or omissions of any Garage, or any work, parts or services they provide or fail to provide;
- the accuracy or completeness of information provided by Garages or other third parties, including prices, descriptions, availability and quotes;
- any guarantee or warranty offered by a Garage, or a Garage's failure to honour it;
- any agreement, dispute or dealing between you and a Garage;
- delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control; or
- third-party products or services offered through the Platform, which are subject to their own terms.
15.Our liability to you
We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and for any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (including your non-excludable statutory rights as a consumer).
Subject to that, and because we are an intermediary providing a free platform service to you:
- we are not liable for loss or damage caused by a Garage or arising from the work, which is the Garage's responsibility (section 5);
- we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, for losses you could have avoided by taking reasonable steps, or for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control; and
- our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with the Platform and these terms, for all claims in aggregate, is limited to the greater of (i) the total fees you have paid to us (for example FixSaver+ fees) in the 12 months before the claim arose and (ii) £100.
If you use the Platform for business purposes, the exclusions and limits in these terms apply to the fullest extent permitted by law and we exclude all liability for loss of profit, business, goodwill, or any indirect or consequential loss.
16.Suspension and ending your access
You can stop using the Platform at any time and close your account by contacting us. We may suspend or end your access to the Platform if you breach these terms, misuse the Platform, or fail to provide information we reasonably need. We may also suspend the Platform to deal with technical issues, comply with the law, or make changes. Ending your access does not affect rights or obligations that have already arisen.
17.Intellectual property
We (or our licensors) own all intellectual property rights in the Platform and its content. You may use the Platform for your own personal, non-commercial purposes only. You must not copy, reproduce, modify or commercially exploit any part of the Platform without our permission. We may collect aggregated and anonymised data about use of the Platform and the bookings made through it, and all rights in that anonymised data belong to us; it will not identify you.
18.Privacy and cookies
We handle your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, and we use cookies as described in our Cookie Policy. To arrange your Job, we will share necessary details (such as your name, contact and vehicle details, and the work requested) with the Garage you book, so they can carry out the work.
19.Complaints and dispute resolution
If something goes wrong with the work, please raise it with the Garage first, as they are responsible for it. If you have a complaint about the Platform or our service, please contact us at hello@repairmycar.io and we will do our best to put it right.
For disputes about the work that you cannot resolve with the Garage directly, you may be able to use an independent alternative dispute resolution (ADR) scheme such as The Motor Ombudsman, where the Garage is a member or otherwise agrees. ADR is optional and does not charge you for making a complaint, and you can still go to court if you are not satisfied.
20.Changes to the service and these terms
We may change the Platform and these terms from time to time - for example to reflect changes in the law, to improve the service, or to address security. We will post the current version here with an updated date. Where a change significantly affects you, we will give you reasonable notice. Continuing to use the Platform after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
21.Other important terms
If a court finds any part of these terms invalid, the rest will continue to apply. If we delay enforcing these terms, we can still enforce them later. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation, and will tell you if we do; this will not affect your rights. These terms are between you and us, and no one else has the right to enforce them. These terms are the entire agreement between us in respect of the Platform.
22.Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring claims in the courts of England and Wales; if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring claims in your local courts. Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
