Reviews & Feedback Policy

Reviews help drivers make informed choices and help garages show the quality of their work. We want reviews to be genuine, factual and fair, positive or negative. This policy explains when and how reviews can be left, how garages can respond, and what we will and will not do. It forms part of our Driver Terms, Garage Terms and Acceptable Use Policy. A review usually has a star rating, an optional recommendation, and written comments.

You can leave a review where you actually used a garage you found and booked through RepairMyCar. To keep reviews relevant and genuine, you should not leave a review if:

• you did not actually have work done by, or genuinely engage, the garage through the Platform;
• the work was completed more than 12 months ago;
• you are connected to the garage (for example an employee, family member, marketing representative, or a competitor); or
• you want to comment on the garage in general rather than your specific experience.

Reviews can only be left by people aged 18 or over.

Helpful reviews focus on your actual experience: the quality of the work, customer service, timekeeping and communication, and any issues and how the garage handled them. Please do not include: offensive or inappropriate language; unsupported accusations of bad workmanship; false, misleading or defamatory statements; irrelevant personal comments about staff; personal contact details; or links or promotional material. Your review must also comply with our Acceptable Use Policy.

Once submitted, your review is published in line with this policy. You can update your review within a reasonable period (for example up to 2 months) if your experience or its resolution changes. We may, in limited circumstances, ask you to amend a review that does not meet this policy.

Garages can respond to reviews, and we encourage them to respond professionally to both positive and negative reviews. Responses are public, so they should be factual and courteous. A garage response must not contain offensive language, personal comments about the driver, accusations that the driver is lying, or false or defamatory statements, and must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy.

We do not routinely monitor or verify reviews, and we are not responsible for the views expressed in them. We use checks to help identify fake, duplicate or suspicious reviews, which we may suppress while we investigate and remove if confirmed. We may also remove or edit reviews or responses that breach this policy. We will not simply remove a negative review on request where it meets this policy; we aim to be impartial.

We do not recommend or warrant any garage, and your contract for the work is with the garage, not us. If you have a problem, please try to resolve it with the garage first. If you cannot resolve it together, you can seek free advice from Citizens Advice, and may be able to use an independent ADR scheme such as The Motor Ombudsman where the garage is a member or agrees. By submitting a review or response, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, modify, translate, publish and distribute it (and your display name) for the purpose of operating and promoting the Platform. We may suspend, edit or remove any review or response where we reasonably consider it necessary.
